How the evaluation works

The Evaluation Summary Report your proposal is likely to receive, before you submit.

Your programme's criteria, scores and thresholds, written the way an ESR is written. Every finding points to the section and page it relies on.

What happens to your proposal

The same path an evaluation panel follows, before you submit instead of months after.

  1. You upload it

The Word or PDF file of a proposal written anywhere, or the proposal you write in GrantForge.

  2. It is read against your call

The full topic text, its expected outcomes and scope, and your programme's official criteria, scale and thresholds.

  3. Several reviewers read it

Independent readers review each criterion, then a rapporteur writes the consensus, as a panel does.

  4. You get the ESR

A score per criterion against its threshold, strengths and shortcomings, each tied to the passage it relies on. Page limit and call coverage are checked too.

  5. You revise and re-run

Fix what matters most and run it again, as often as you need, until your deadline.

Calibrated on real ESRs

We compare our reports with the real Evaluation Summary Reports of proposals shared with us under NDA, programme by programme.

For ERC, the review follows the panel: several panel-member perspectives and a lead reviewer, wherever the funder publishes its panels.

Why not ask a general AI assistant?

An assistant gives you an opinion

It does not know your programme's grid, its scale or its thresholds, it does not read the full call, and it changes its mind from one prompt to the next.

This gives you the report evaluators write

Your programme's criteria and thresholds, the full call text, several reviewers and a consensus, findings tied to your own pages, calibrated on real ESRs. Compare it with the external reviewer your office already pays for a single read.
